    Description

Offered is a beautiful squat vase on a green ground covered in an even, silvery blue iridescence. I purchased it from a Sotheby’s Olympia auction in 2003. The mounts cast as carnations and are faintly marked for the Alvin Corporation. This is a great example of Loetz art glass, alas, approaching empty nester status, we are preparing to significantly downsize in the near future so letting some of our treasures go.
    Condition:
    • Outstanding overall antique condition with only age appropriate wear.
    • No chips, cracks, scratches or other damage.
    • Sterling is all intact, with no missing pieces. There is ONE small strip that, while solidly attached to the glass, does not seem as flush as the rest, and at the end where it connects to another piece, you can feel a very slight rough spot. This MAY have been an old repair, but it has been this way since I purchased it. I lightly polish the sterling every year or so, and that process has never caused any problems so if it was repaired, it is solid, and is barely apparent, even on close inspection. I’m being VERY picky here, as I believe in full disclosure of any issue even if it’s not clearly an issue. The piece in question is shown in the last photo - in the side ways loop, it is the piece of silver on the left.
    • No pontil mark.
    • 2-3/4” tall, 1-1/2” diameter bottom, 1-1/2” at the rim, ~3” at the widest area.
    • Sterling marked for Alvin Corporation.
Please see the photos with all of the Loetz sterling overlay (and other Loetz) that I am offering. Offers will be considered for a single purchase of all of them.
Thank you for looking. Payment is expected within 2 days of the auction end, and I will ship within 3 business days. Purchases from outside the US will go through the eBay Global Shipping program, meaning I will ship it to the eBay distribution center, where they process any required paperwork for international shipping – so there are several additional days in transit involved. For details about the program, see information available on eBay.
