    Description

Hi and thanks for looking at my auction
Here we have a very large (about 16 inches tall) Gigantor vintage toy robot made by Mego. He is roughly late 1960's to early 70's vintage. He works great, has a confident stride and all actions work very strong. This is a well made robot! You may notice he is different than the other Gigantor robots you may have seen . When I received this guy, he was missing his ears. I had a Gigantor in my collection, so I cast clear ears from mine and installed a rotating beacon effect. I also illuminated his eyes.  All functions work perfectly. The rubber wheels show no degradation. The arms fit tight and posable. Gun lights blaze away with great vigor and doors shake like crazy! Very energetic action. One thing I like about this robot is that it changes the walking direction after spinning and shooting. Off hand, I cant think of another that works this way. I'm sure there is another, but it is not common. I had to fix a battery contact that fell into the robot and the battery door hinge tab but nothing that can seen externally. He is a great example of this type of robot and very unique - one of a kind with the glowing eyes and ear effects. I am including a set of regular ears I made when I couldn't decide which way I was go with this guy. They can be painted silver and, once attached, will look very close to original (minus the bending and paint peeling originals have after all these years). They are of cast plastic, carbon fiber rod and plastic bead construction. It's easy to swap out the lights if you wish. Last picture is for comparison and only the robot being described here is being sold.
